ALMAKOR and ALMALUX - slow-burning and safe 2/5/11 3:10 AM

We conducted tests of ALMAKOR C + ALMALUX (alkyd paints) – in the Material and LK Structure Elements Laboratory (Rail Institute – Warsaw). The tests were conducted according to PK-K-02511 standard: Fire safety of materials.

Our set of paints tested by the Material and LK Structure Elements Laboratory was classified as: A, D1, T1, P1, R2

  • A – Slow-burning material.
  • D1 – Weak smoke properties material.
  • T1 – Low carbon monoxides concentration material.
  • P1 – Inflammable material with oxygen parameter above 35.
  • R2 – Medium surface fire spread rating material with fire spread rating on surface ranging from 20 to 75.

The tests covered:

  • Burning properties – material class according to PN-K-02508:1999

    • acc. UIC Code 564-2, Ap 4
  • Smoke properties during combustion

    • material class according to PN-K-02501:2000
    • acc. UIC Code 564-2, Ap 15
  • Carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide concentration emitted during thermal decomposition or fire:

    • material class according to PN-93/K -02505
  • Fire-smoke marking properties

    • material class according to PN-K-02511:2000
    • acc. UIC Code 564-2, Ap 15
  • Flame spread indicator:

    • material class according to PN-K-02512:2000
